Get well, nature!
Get well, nature!
Blyde Benelux created, developed and led the six-month “Get well, nature!” campaign for Natuurmonumenten. With 81,497 digital and physical “get well cards”, a protest march with 200 forest rangers in The Hague and a unique “seat for nature” filled with tickets, the campaign reached the general public and media as well as politically The Hague.
From sympathetic
foresters up to
social proof
Natuurmonumenten wanted to mobilize people in the Netherlands to get better nature protection higher on the political agenda. Nature is under pressure due to climate change and pollution, among other things, while research shows that 86% of people think the government should do more to protect nature. Forest rangers delivered the message sympathetic and urgent.
The forest rangers pooled their concerns and presented a manifesto with four concrete action points. In a poignant video — produced by We Agency — and through personal social posts, many foresters and nature lovers called for your voice for nature. This was possible by sending a digital or physical improvement card: as many as 81,497 people responded.
Ranger March
and a seat for
nature
More than 200 forest rangers then went to The Hague for the Forest Ranger March. They presented the manifesto to several politicians and made a lasting impression in political The Hague, partly thanks to the 100-metre-long red banner with clear facts and figures. The call for nature protection in national and regional news and the heartfelt cry of the forest rangers surfaced in political debates and interviews with politicians.
During the formation, the forest rangers brought the “seat for nature” to The Hague. A transparent No Waste Chair filled with (part of) the more than 80,000 personal get well cards. MPs took a seat in this “seat for nature”, listened to voice wishes for improvement and started the conversation.
Teamwork,
Dreamwork
Blyde Benelux developed the campaign from A to Z: strategy, concept, PR and production and coordinated cooperation with affiliated agencies — with carefully planned moments from before the elections to deep into the formation.
For this campaign, we worked together with the fantastic team at Natuurmonumenten and with Wefilm Creative Agency (strategy and concept in co-creation, film), Circus (design campaign assets), Meute (research and political campaign) and Jalt (online activation).
