Meet Lisa, Sem and Suze: 5 questions to our new interns
This month, Blyde has received no less than 3 new interns. Lisa, Sem and Suze have been joining our team since February! Among other things, we asked our newest colleagues how they contribute to a greener future and what no one in the team knows about them.

Why did you choose to do an internship at B Corp Blyde? And what do you especially hope to learn during your internship at Blyde?
Suze: I chose an internship at Blyde because I would like to put my knowledge from my Communication Science studies into practice. Blyde's vision also appealed to me. Giving something to the world that will help them in the longer term. The companies that Blyde works with, such as Patagonia and ToGoodToGo, are big companies with a lot of impact and are really doing their part for a better world. Working with such companies is something I'm really looking forward to!
Voice: I already did an internship at Blyde for 6 months last year. The atmosphere and activities were incredibly fun and educational. As a result, I decided in consultation to also do my second internship at Blyde. During this period, I hope to dive a little deeper into the subject and thereby gain even more knowledge about the communication and PR profession.
Lisa: I chose Blyde because they described the internship as: you're really part of the team and not just an intern. So at Blyde, I hope to learn a lot about what it's like to work for a PR agency and also gain more practical experience in communication. Furthermore, I hope to work on many fun and impactful projects. After all, I think it's important to do something worthwhile and it also makes me enthusiastic!
Blyde's mission is 'creating a positive footprint worldwide'. How do you contribute to a better planet yourself?
Suze: I'm trying to do my bit for a better world by buying few new clothes. As a student, of course, I already have a bit less budget for that, but I try not to get unnecessary items. When I really need something, I always try to buy it via Vinted or a vintage store first. I also try to eat less meat. I'm not completely vegetarian, but I try to ignore it whenever possible.
Voice: I love shopping in thrift stores with my girlfriend. I take my old clothes to the thrift store or sell them via Vinted. At home, we always opt for organic products. And for transport, I almost only use public transport, the bicycle or an electric shared scooter.
Lisa: For me in several things. I'm not strictly a vegetarian but I actually almost always cook vegetarian food for myself and my friends. I also mainly shop at second-hand stores and usually take the train or bike. I also continue this before going on vacation and I always try to take the train unless it's really far.
What's something no one on the Blyde team knows about you?
Suze: I used to be a fanatical horse girl. From the age of nine, I was on the manager for hours on Wednesday and Saturday. I also had my own horse 'Gwenny' for a while, but didn't ride much after her death five years ago. I secretly miss it a bit.
Voice: I am a big collector. I collect LPs and DVDs, Bearbricks, art books, Funko Pops and comic books, among others. For a long time, all the money I earned went there, but lately I've been trying to cut back a little.
Lisa: I used to want to be a fashion designer when I was young and took sewing lessons with my best friend. We also had our own brand called Ledap (named after our stuffed animals, of course). Now I still sew sometimes, but not that much anymore.
Which podcast would you recommend to everyone?
Suze: I love listening to 'nonsense' podcasts by bike, but my favorite is definitely Geuze & Gorgels! I catch myself laughing out loud in public sometimes at the jokes they make. I really love the dynamic between the two.
Voice: I would recommend Yous & Yay: New Emotions. In this podcast, Yousef Gnaoui (Sef) and Pepijn Lanen (Faberyayo) interview famous people every week in their own unique way. The podcast doesn't feel like a traditional interview at all; it's like you're catching up with a few close friends.
Lisa: I like The psychology of your 20s very nice. Every week, Jemma, the presenter, researches specific themes that you especially experience when you're in your 20s. These are topics such as: why you take things personally, why certain friendships work well and don't, or why we think success is so important. I also always find it interesting when she explains how our brain deals with specific feelings such as regret.
Don't think about it yet, of course, but: your internship will end in July, do you already have an idea what you want to do next?
Suze: In July, I'm going to enjoy the summer vacation first and probably spend a week surfing with friends in France. From September, I plan to take the minor “Artificial Intelligence”. If it's okay, I'll graduate afterwards!
Voice: After this course, I will start with HBO Communication and Multimedia Design. After 1 year, I completed my propaedeutic and then I want to continue at university. This is where I would like to study Media and Culture. In a later school year, you can choose an in-depth package and for me that will be film. And finally, I hope to be able to do a master's degree in cinematography, but first get my current education.
Lisa: I'm going to enjoy the vacation first! After that, I'll be studying for a few more months and hopefully I'll graduate. From November, I'm planning to take a big trip or if I find a really nice job, I would also be open to start working. So it can still go in any direction for me!
